For those not 'yet' in the know, I got a set of cams mid-december as I found a great deal on a set of used cams with under 2000 km. They are Colt 261 intake/268 exhaust cams (stage II/III). Felt pretty good after I got them somewhat dialed in with my 4yr old cam gears.

Hopefully I'll get them dyno'd and really setup right one of these days.

Update:

After last sunday 1/17 at thunderhill, I found after I got back the water pump was leaking. The coolant level was still good so it must have started going just down the road from the house, so fortunately I didn't have any issues traveling to/from willows. I found about a 6" x 8" puddle under the car after parking it sunday night. So friday night I picked up a new water pump from napa, which fortunately was in stock and swapped it in.

I've also been having problems with the starter which has been acting up for the past few weeks. So this afternoon I replaced it with another one I've had for a while that's good.

After doing research I've found out the problem is the contacts, that the plunger hits once power is applied to the solenoid. It provides power to the motor once the solenoid shoots the gear out, it arc's from the contacts to the plunger and gets carbon built up over time which becomes a problem. There are updated contact's available that help with this (larger), but it can also be solved by simply cleaning up the contacts with a dremel and wire brush. The newish starter already had updated contacts, and for shits & giggles I cleaned it up with the dremel. Starts really nice now.

Small update: Thanks to Dan, a guy up in Portland I sold & delivered a transmission to. He gave me a set of front kouki JDM turn signal & marker lights for my front end that needed a bit of work. So I spent a couple days repairing them with plastic repair epoxy and modifying them to install on my aftermarket bumper. Definately completes the front end.

And after looking around for tow hooks to buy, I got fed up with the high prices or ugly design (IMO) and made my own. With help from Jon who welded some gussets to add some strength to the front one (thanks again, as always Jon). Also thanks to another friend, CJ @ Infinit Graphix who made a few stickers for me. I think they came out awesome in the end... but the rear was a giant nightmare to install.

Got my control arms on finally... they've been done for a couple months. But enough typing, here's what your all really looking for:

Battle Version weld on control arm adjusters & spare control arms for modification.

Gettin' Tiggy Wit It.

Secondary holes added for the tension rods once arm is extended.

Added a mount for my rod end swaybar links, instead of drilling a hole and using a bracket.

Painted. (again much thanks to Jon @ www.stealth-custom-fab.com )

Installed the adjusters and they're complete.

Removed the old.

In with the new. Also got rid of my NCRCA's and installed RCA's (for now at least).

Also while doing this I noticed the RF tension rod was loose at the front. I checked and the bolts that T3 provided, that goes through the rod end didn't have a long enough 'shank' portion. So there was play because the rod end was around the threads of the grade 5 (or less) bolts. So I ran to the hardware store and bought new fine thread grade 8 bolts with a longer shank. Front end is solid now.

So far it feels awesome. Although I don't have tires to give it a full test... I did auto-x it and felt fine.

It is the end on an ERA... But when one era ends another one begins. So the era of more power is about to begin! thumbsup.gif

So, it's been a long time coming. But a bit of progress has been made wink.gif

Stripped down.

smile.gif

New timing belt, waterpump, etc.

Chromoly lightweight flywheel and illegal garage clutch.

Modified bellhousing to fit a W58. Sold the 6 speed as I figured I'd probably break it.

Shoe horned it in.

... required some oil pan clearancing.

More to come.

The ECU - Vi-PEC V44 (Thanks to Bob @ Drift-Office)

Stock harness, removed, labeled & ready for destruction.

Mounds of wiring spaghetti, everything to the left is trash and a bit of whats the right as well.

Started making the harness.

WTF was I thinking?!?

Came out pretty good for the first harness/standalone I've ever made/installed.

Before I forget, HUGE thank you to Jonnie Fraz @ Stealth Custom Fab for making the engine/trans mounts AND doing a crazy amount of welding to put the exhaust together from downpipe back.

Started off with the stock header/manifold... and worked our way back from there.

Filled her up, primed the oil pump with a TON of cranking. And got her started Sunday 4/17.

Modified an old faded CF hood to fit, as my old dropvent came down right on the valve cover.

Went and got tuning done Thursday 4/21.

Thanks to (in some cases AGAIN):

Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning I wetsanded the hood to try and remove all the faded gel/clear coat. Dropped it off with Jason Weds afternoon and picked it up Thursday. Came out sweet.

Today I started repairing the damage to the front bumper. Tires caught it mid dori and broke the zipties so it flipped off face down and got dragged for a bit. Got some filler/painting to do, but it's reinforced so I no longer have to worry.

Andrew had some rough spots on the bumper so he decided that dragging it on the ground while the car was moving would smooth those spots out. lmao

While waiting Sat on a second layer of resin to cure I polished these up and installed them.

I've had them about a year (I think).

Not much happening recently, had to ship the Shuriken battery back for a warranty replacement. It was leaking around the negative terminal just enough to do this:

Also, figured out how to roll back my odometer to zero. It'll give me a good idea of what kind of mileage I put on the new motor smile.gif .
