So, I pulled codes off my ECU again today and got a few different issues to iron out. Codes started out with:

14 - Vehicle Speed Snesor
77 - Rear heated oxygen sensor circuit
75 -
93 -
121 - Shift solenoid valve B

This may have been a bad source for info but I went to Autozone.com to get some help defining the codes. I can't find a code 75 or 93. I double checked the read out, and maybe I can't count or something. Any thoughts?

ohmy.gif Damn! That is a long list. Thanks Rob. So, I guess I need to go through and take care of the little things first. You have any ideas on repair/replacement for those troubles?

14 Vehicle Speed Sensor signal circuit is open
75 EVAP leak
77 Rear oxygen sensor
1201 Shift solenoid B
93 - ?

77 Sounds expensive and a pain to boot. 1201, will I even have to worry if I am converting to manual?

Since the car is 96 it's OBDII and all the check engine codes must be clear in order to pass smog. So the shift solenoid has to be fixed since the car has to be plugged into the smog machine. Altho if we do a 5 speed and use a 5 speed ECU then it will work but I dunno when you plan to do the swap and I know that you need to get the car smogged soon.

THe speed sensor shouldnt be too hard to fix it's either the wires or the sensor itself, EVAP could be a few things but again not too bad and the O2 sensor should be the same fix as the speed sensor.

Apparently a tranny has been sourced up, but I'll need a new ecu huh? I also need to go to pick in pull and get:
slave cylinder
hard lines
drive shaft
flywheel
clutch
etc
etc
etc
Think the best place to get the sensors would be from nissan or donor?

THe O2 you should be able to get a Bosch one from Kragen or other autoparts places for a decent price. I have an S14 SR speed sensor if you want to try it you're welcome to it, I dunno if it will read the right speed tho but it's worth a try. The clutch kit I would get on eBay from the user "gripforce-clutches" it was like $100 for an OEM kit (pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bushing & throw out bearing) all you would need to get is a flywheel and a throw out bearing carrier which I may have one in my garage you can have. The rest would for sure be from the yard or a part out. The clutch master and slave cylinder's try kragen or other autoparts places they are like $10 each for new unit's

If your back down @ jons I can bring my obdII scanner and see if it'll interface to grab P-codes. It may even tell me if the o2 sensor is responding or not.

I'm sure rob knows where we can D/L the FSM. If not I can find it.

With any luck I'll be over at Jon's on thursday. Ideally, I'd like to get it plugged in to see how everything is performing.
