That metal tab is called a "screamer", they squel when they hit the rotor to tell you its time to change ur brakes soon. If you don't change the pads this sreamer will eat into the rotor and start to make a grinding sound which is bad. However this is not enough to sieze a piston into a caliper... a freind of mine didnt change his brakes for a whole year after the screamers started grinding, long story short he wore a groove a 1/4 inch deep into the rotor. I replaced the pads and pushed back the piston with no problem.

Oh yea thats what i keep hearing that its nearly impossible to seize both calipers i was using a whole lot of e brake a couple weeks ago at 23rd but i dont think that would do it hears a little more detail tho the pistons will move out some but they will not go in except a little bit opening the bleeders does not help nor does anything really? thats all i really got and me and scott both trying could not get it to budge

I dunno what to tell you, I used nothing but e brake when I did the full track at thunder hill and my rear calipers are fine, not only that but they are way older than yours so i think mine would seize long before yours do.

Only things I can tell you is make sure the e brake is not pulled up and turn the piston clockwise to make it go back in. Also here is a copy i made of the S14 FSM that shows how to push the piston back in.

On the net, you can find the majority of them on Nico or phatg20.net.
