Well I submitted my cars to speedhunters.com and what do you know my car ended up on the site!

Alright, two Friday's ago Jonnie decided that he was going to put a cage in my car in order to meet the requirements for the Thunderhill competition coming up on February 7th.

Well after that was decided for me we got some additional help from Luke Lonberger who owns a shop called Blu808. Luke offered me a labor sposorship, so he sold me the DOM tubing I needed for the cage and bent up the main hoop for free!!! Woot! Big ups to Luke, thanks man!

Luke bent the main hoop to "Big Rob" specs lol so it's really tight on the body of the car so that I have more head room. Jon came by this past weekend and got the rest of the cage cut, coped and installed. For now it's just a 4 pt roll bar with a door bar to get me thru until I can install the "halo" section of the cage. But for now this will meet the requirements.

At the moment these are all the pics I have, I will post some more later when get a chance.

I had Cj at Infinit Graphx make me some Blu808 stickers.





Here is a shot of the rear shock tower unmodified.


I had to cut out some of the panel to gain access to the actual shock tower.


After removing all the sound deadening and metal from in front of the shock towers.


Jon cutting the main hoop down to the correct height.


Fitment pic before anything was welded, this was done so we knew exactly where the main hoop should sit in order to gain as much clearance as possible.


Coping the rear uprights.


Sanding and welding in the rear base plates.








Tacking the uprights to the main hoop before we tipped it to weld all the way around the tubing. Here you can see the fitment of main hoop.




















Checking the fitment/coping of the diagonal bar... the "Cage Flower" approves of this!

Removed the carpet and sound deadening from the driver's foot area.


Here are the clamps that Jon came up with to bolt the door bar in since the door bars are only temporary for now.




Here you can see the tab Jon made for the door bar, this thing is slightly beefy. The end of the tab goes into the tubing 3 inches and is welded on both sides as well as the end of the tubing. The "Cage Flower" also approves of this!

More pics! I painted the cage and rear of the car where I removed the sound deadening, now I just need to wait for it to dry before I slap everything back in.

I am a lil late with the update about the Competition, but I ended up making it to the first round of tandem runs. My first leading tandem run was actually pretty decent, but my second following tandem run I messed up on bad.

O well I managed to get points towards the championship and did exactly what I was hoping for which was to make it past qualifying and into the tandem rounds. There just wasn't enough time to re-learn the car so that I could lay down some clean runs. I did a great job of going off track and getting mud all over my car tho hahaha.

Well I finally got Windows Movie Maker to see the Go Pro footage, so I made a quick vid.

Problem is I only had the Go Pro on for one run during the comp, luckily it was a decent run despite the understeer in the last corner. So this is all the video footage I have.
